Rugby on the Beach in New Zealand

Kia ora to all you rugby fans out there!

You’ve probably been researching your World Cup trip to NZ for a while now, how to get and what to do once you’ve landed if you’re not a local.

Early bird flights to NZ will soon be available, but how will you get about? That’s where we come in.

At a bare minimum, getting to NZ from overseas is at least a 3 hour flight, and if you’ve not been here before, we can tell you that there’s no shortage of thing to see and do a you get to and from the various games.

We recently posted a blog of 40 iconic NZ images, check it out; it should get you salivating over this fantastic World Cup festival that you’re going to become a part of.

At Backpacker, we’ve got a superb range of 2-6 berth campers that won’t cost you the earth. Our 2 berths in particular are an excellent way to keep a cheap roof with wheels over your head, while being nimble enough to manage your way around some of our windier roads.

Here’s a wee profile of our 3 2 berth campers on offer, and what makes them easy for you!

The Breezer

The Breezer is our cheapest and most basic camper. It’s small, and if you’re crossing over on the ferry, she’s the same cost as a car which is a boon!

If all you want or need is somewhere to sleep at night that will also get you from A-B during the World Cup in New Zealand, and you want it on the cheap so you can pack your rucksack full of memorabilia, then this 2 berth camper is the one for you.

It comes with a cooker too, so you can have a fry up the morning after one of the bigger games!

The Nomad

Our 2 berth hitop campervan is a hit in New Zealand. It’s a bit more roomier than the Breezer and has a bit more grunt. It also has a fully functional kitchen with fridge, gas top stove, sink and both an internal and external table.

Like the Breezer, she goes across on the ferry at the rate of a car! Plus there’s plenty of storage space!

The Wanderer

The Backpacker Wanderer is the works burger when it comes to the 2 berths. Fitted out with a full kitchen, including microwave with a toilet and shower and plenty of space, you’ll make your mates green with envy when you pull up to the holiday park in one of these sweet rides.

It is a bit longer, so your in the next tier up in terms of the ferry. However, the convenience of having a fully self contained motel on wheels while your whipping about the NZ World Cup fixtures makes it worthwhile.

This model is already fairly popular, with few remaining during the cup, so don’t miss out if this sounds like a bit of you.

STAY TUNED

As mentioned previously, we will be adding in blog posts about festivals and event planned during the World Cup, with a few hot tips along the way. Be sure to pop back for a read while you continue planning your NZ World Cup trip for 2011.
